The bus from Paraty to Sao Paulo took the better part of a day. We left mid morning and arrived into Sao Paulo as the sun began to set. Whilst I didn´t actually spend any time in the city, I wanted the pin in the map! So we spent some time at the bus station (the biggest in Brazil) and then caught an overnight bus to Foz. I did see some of the city from the coach window. Huge skyscrapers perferate the horizon and as you move into the endless stretch of suburbs the existance of shanty towns and extreme poverty hug the roadside. The city is absolutely sprawling with a population of over 22million. I think it definitely provides another reason to return!
