Friday KakaduYesterdays jumping crocodiles trip was very good. They put lumps of meat on the end of a pole and dipped it in the water to attract the crocs and when they came up to the boat they dangled the meat about 3 ft over the water and eventually the croc would jump to try to get the meat. They let the croc jump a couple of times and then let it have the meat.Later we went to the sunset market on the beach. We are not big market fans but it was one of the things the books said we had to do.It was the first of the season so they had a firework display at the end.Today was a trip to Kakadu an early start because it was 3 hrs to our first stop, rock art.I had said I wouldn't do any more rock art but it was part of the trip and we were assured it was an easy walk but of course it wasn't, common sense should have told me rock art is always high up that's why it's rock art.It was exceptional and a type we had not seen before and worth the effort but definitely that is it.The highlight of the day was the cruise on yellow waters. It was a totally different boat ride than we have done previously and the best way to describe it is to compare it with the everglades in Florida.Lots of birds and their nests with the birds sat on them and crocs in their natural environment lurking under the water with their heads just visible. We got within a few feet of them and they never moved.A great trip. Tomorrow some of the other must do's in Darwin ending with a must do sunset dinner cruise round the harbour.
