our entry into laos was as interesting as the exit! Got pretty much dumped on the laos side of the border in the middle of no where and managed to get to our first destination on the back of a fish truck, squeezed inbetween buckets of live eels, bags of live frogs with their legs sewn together and stinking fish! Leaving Loas from the north heading to thailand took a few attempts and 36 hours after abandoning our bus that was skidding down hillsides and opting for the 'safer' option...a local bus where bikes fall off the roof and smash your windows! Inbetween those adventures was lots of fun. Did some great white water rafting, kayacking, caving, trecking, tubing, sight seeing and exploring angkor ruins, eating and drinking! The scenery in laos was breathtaking and the people genuinely and beautifully friendly, we were sorry to leave.
