G'Day
So we have been in Sydney for 6 weeks now. Jo and I have both got jobs as waiters/waitressesin swanky restaurants near the Opera House. The view from my restaurant is of the Opera House and the view from Jo's restaurant isof the Sydney Harbour Bridge. So we can't complain about the location.
We have just bourght a camper van ... Well I saw camper van ... it is more like a van with a bed in the back. But it drives well and it is a pretty big bed. So now we are looking forward to our trip up the east coast to Cairns in 6 weeks time.
Since we have been in Sydney we have done a far bit. We went to the Tarongo Zoo which has a great view overlooking the harbour and loads of animals (zoos tend to have animals in ... wouldn't be much of a zoo without them!) We also went to Luna Park. This is a 70s style theme park with loads of fairground rides and stalls.
While Louise, David and Rebecca were over they took us to the Blue mountainswhere we saw the 3 Sisters, and did some walking in the bush to waterfalls and cascades. We then went to the Hunter Valley wine region. Obviously sampled some plonk. There was also an amazing zoo. It was a bit like a farmyard zoo in UK. We got to feed the Kangaroos and Walabies (and Emus - These are stupid pea brain birds) The Kangaroos were so gentle and soft. They came up and took the food from you hand. However they do make a pretty mean steak sandwich too!
We have walked across the Harbour Bridge but not over the top yet. We will book this next week I expect. We have also ventured to Bondi and Manly beach. I have not tried my hand at surfing yet but I am sure I will over the next few months.
We are looking forward to Nick, Sally and the gang landing in 4 weeks. That will probably be the next time we update the blog as we are spending most our time working and saving at the moment, so not much going on.
Love to everyone
