Good Morning everyone. We are on day 3. Just woke up- it is 11am- bit late I know but our room has no windows!!!!! Maybe set an alarm for tomorrow morning.
So we arrived about 4 pm on Monday. We found our hostel got showered and went exploring. Found the ladies market which is mostly tack but a few nice bits!! very nice jewelery. Obviously we were very tired from flight so found some food and went to bed. Our first nights food was ok. think we may have gone to a chain- had noodle soup which was ok but bit boring after a while.
Yesterday we discovered Hong Hong Island which is much nicer than the area we are in. The buildings are shinnier !!!!!! (glass) were as where we are they are a little shabby and people hang their washing out the window due to lack of space. HK Island cleaner and full of business people. To get to HK Island we used the STAR FERRY and travelled each way for 22p (the return journey at night was especially nice as all the high rises are illuminated). Yesterday we walked around- went to the Botanical gardens where there was also a few animals. 2 really FAT Orang-utans. We tried to have a sleep on the bench by the waterful but got told off for lying down!!!!!!!! We then met with Tina (Hilary from Dolphin sister- she lives here) She took us to a club she belongs to- seemed to be for mostly english. We had a really nice dinner with her and she told us lots of do's & don't- THANK YOU TINA!!!
Today we are off to Hong Kong Island again. Going to go up the Peak Tram and then walk down (should take about 45 mins to walk down). This evening we are planning to go to horse racing in in HK Island as we have been told it is a must do.
They don't really eat breakfast. but those who do eat Dim Sum for breakfast and although we may try this at some point I don't think is our cup of tea! We have been heading to the food market to buy fruit each day. There are many we don't know what they are. I think I will take some pictures today and maybe someone can help us out??
Weather is nice here. Not too hot not too cold with a good breeze to woft the smells around! (some are quite nice smells... Others are a bit strange).
