Hope all is well in Auckland, I am sending my brother out to see you in September (he will also be based there for a month as part of his medicine studies).

Stuart - congrats to you & Jo on your engagement! Your travelling sounds truely amazing. what a wonderful thing to have done. I can only imagine how incredible it must have been.
I am unfortunately back at work after having 7 months off with Leona, which was wonderful. Having a baby is a bit of an adventure too. She is so beautiful & very amazing.
Still fitting a bit of swimming in, but not visiting Otter much these days. I love reading all the reviews though.
Makes me laugh to think of you counting pennies in each ccy - bit like counting lengths of a 1500 or Lanzarote training set.
Take care & hope you find somewhere wonderful to live in NZ.

Congratulations on the engagement guys - fantastic news. If you can somehow co-ordinate wedding plans with the World Masters in Perth in Apr 2008 then I'm there (invite or not!!).
Enjoy the pleasures of staying in one place for a while....

your pictures are much better than watching england play in the world cup finals...far more colourful viewing. so...just to overcome your obvious homesickness(NOT) this is what you are missing in England? Well, the summer is great so far although there is about to be a drought order from Thames Water. london has gone world cup crazy. Everyone has little flags attached to their cars. i brought a bike. it's quick for getting around. I'm hoping to get my PADI at the end of the year. Do you recommend thailand as a good place to do it? let me know. Bet you were handy with your fins Stuart. Oh, Cally Masters did really well at the recent middlesex championships....we finished third overall in the team championship...and I didn't even race! too much DJiing has impeded my training somewhat.....a little more focused at the moment though...so am hoping to do some other events later on in the summer. Butterfly...still 'challenged' though. hope you are both well....you look it!
Love jon
Hilary & Malcolm
Have just returned from Northumbria, covering a total of 1111.1 miles - not quite up to your standards!
Visited Anne & Malcolm on the way up there in Britain's smallest county, Rutland, then on up to Alnwick (pronounced Annick), an interesting old town where the Duke of Northumberland built his enormous castle to deal harshly with the Scottish cattle raiders. They were kept in an 'oubliette', and are now illustrated by a tailor's dummy lit by a dim light, which the raiders would not have had, and with a tape recorder emitting realistic coughs and groans. Ideas for the tourist trades where you have been? Sounds as though they're already up to all the tricks!

Just to say I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up with your travelogue now that I am back on-line. It's rather alarming to read of the sleights of hand pulled by unscrupulous asian travel organisations but maybe we have got used to cotton wool? Would you say you prefer Asia to South America? I guess you would have to reply 'In what way? Scenery? People? Food? Risk?' Keep safe and well. Love Anne and Malcolm.
