Danielle kindly gave us a tour of harvard, it has something silly like 90 libraries! The whole campus is big and beautiful, with a giant dining hall, but as it was a Saturday most of it was closed so we could only look from outside.
We left Danielle and Peter to walk the freedom trail, it was a very cold windy day but we did it anyway. Our hiking obviously came in handy as we managed to walk the whole trail in one day, in sure an untrained hiker could easily do it... but we like to think that the inca trail hike made us fitter. So much so that after seeing almost every historical site in Boston we climbed a tower with 294 steps. We even had the energy to go shopping in the evening. This shopping trip resulted in Jo buying an iPad!
The next morning Danielle picked us up and took us for breakfast at the hyatt, it was the best breakfast we've had so far. There was an egg station and all kinds of fruit and croissants etc. Definite hotel envy. Peter and Danielle gave is easter presents! It was a cute little chick bag filled with goodies, including a solid chocolate bunny! You got get solid chocolate treats in the UK! Well not that big anyway.
It was then that it dawned on us that it was Easter Sunday, and everything would be closed. We wanted to go back to the shopping mall as we had literally only been into the apple store before it had closed last night. We should really have thought about it first and saved the freedom trail for today. Oh well what can you do? Danielle dropped us back off at her flat and we packed ready to leave later this evening. It has been really nice staying in a flat, felt really homey. Thank you Danielle for letting us stay there! We got the tube back into the main square and wandered around for a while, we got some more cannoli, yumm. Will have to try and find somewhere to get these at home!
Danielle is going to pick us up to take us to the tube station so we don't have to walk there with our bags. Looking forward to another overnight bus ride! Woop! Then onto niagara! Hopefully we will get another stamp in our passports.
