Well we picked up the car, what can I say driving in this country is interesting. Took me a while in the car park to work out how to use an automatic, and there where a few times that I was driving across two lanes. Its hard when it's all completely opposite. I'm sure I'll get better at it though. We did have a few issues with the car pick up, we asked for sat nav thinking portable sat nav they give you, but no we had to have a car with inter-grated say nav. The lovely man behind the desk offered us a car upgrade with a sat nav for the small price of $250 on top of what we had already paid and not including petrol! I don't think so somehow, so no sat nav for us, let's hope jo's map reading is up to scratch! We eventually managed to get away from him with no extra costs, only to find that he had given us a massive Mazda! Btw we had asked for a small car similar to a ford focus. There was no way I could drive that thing let alone park it. Luckily I went back to the pick up desk and said that I had requested a small car and he obviously knew what he was doing as he changed it right there. So, we ended up with... A pink ford fiesta! Much better, well at-least we'll be able to find it in a car park.
The night before we had booked tickets to visit the Winchester mystery house, it is supposed to be the most haunted house in America. We arrived there without getting too lost. The tour lasted a couple of hours, the house was crazy it had more windows than the empire state building. The steps where so tiny you went up about 30 just to go up half a level. Everything was made on counts of 13 as that was her favourite number. There were doors opening onto walls, doors that opened to nowhere or big drops into various places throughout the house. She was a very crazy lady, she had over 40 guest bedrooms but never had any guests, bot sure if that was because she didn't want any, or they didn't want to stay with her. Very very odd.
From here we managed rather well to get to the hotel we where staying at, there isn't much to do around here, so we stocked up on food for our trip into yosemite and think we may just order pizza. How lazy of us.
