So on to Royal Chitwan National Park to clear our lungs and have some jungle adventures!
Some of the most endangered species in the World are found in Chitwan, including the Indian one-horned rhinocerous, the Gharial crocodile and the Bengal tiger once again.
Whilst there we spotted Marsh muggers crocodiles and Gharials on a canoe trip, a huge black bear 10 metres away on a jungle walk (will try and upload video) and the one-horned Rhinocerous whilst on an elephant safari.
Chitwan no longer has any wild elephants but they have a breeding programme in the park so all elephants used are domesticated. One of the best experiences we've ever had was bathing with the elephants in the river next to our huts - nothing like a cold shower on a hot day!
This topped off a great few days at the park and we were lucky to have seen so many different species, including a tiger! Although this was in captivity as when it was a cub it's mother was shot by poachers and wouldn't survive by itself in the wild. Seeing the size of it we were glad that we didn't see a wild one after all!!
