THE GHAN Early start on 5th July. Checked out of our hotel (OK, hostel) with backpacks, tucker etc. for long journey ahead. Shuttle bus from centre of Darwin to train terminal out of town. In haste - quick update: Just returned from a tour of two great National Parks to SE of Darwin. Waterfalls, crocodiles, much heat, aboriginal art etc. etc. - oh and big planes & motor racing in Darwin too (not 'Moror Racing' as our photo album says). We are off on the train tomorrow from Darwin to Adelaide (48 hours to cover 3,015km). Sounded like a good idea - we'll see.
