Colonia
Colonia is definately one of my favourite stops so far (out of all three of them....!) but i can imagine it will stay one of my favourites as it was this beautiful quant town with leafy roads and pretty little houses and we stayed in a lovely guest house with a court yard with a fountain.
During our only day here we all headed off for lunch together, all 15 of us, but soon got broken up as people visited banks and our group ended up being Jona, Isac, Matt, Sarah, Andrea and me. The highlight of the bank visit being Jona getting stuck in the ATM booth cos he didn´t realise there was a release button and was banging on the door to get out, lol.
We all had a nice lunch of pizza and then headed to the rental shop to hire a golf buggy to explore the samll town with, this was so much fun! Although they don´t actually go very fast they certainly did when Andrea was taking corners at a wooping 10mph, down the very quite streets! We had also only hired a golf cart for 4 but picked up Matt from the corner of the street and squashed three in the back ' not an easy feat, not sure the feable suspension appreciated to burly guys and an extra girl in the back.
On our self proclaimed "Bond" tour, you can imagine the sound effects coming from our golf cart, we visited the markets, stopped to climb the lighthouse, visited the old town and the port and generally ran a mock round the town.
That evening we all head out to dinner together to a lovely restaurant by the port and sat in the garden at the back with the sunsetting behind the water. We drank lots of sangria and chatted about all the funny customs from everyone´s countries ' the Danish and the Norweigan guys are hilarious.
Once again at abot 1am we all walked back to our guest house for some sleep before the next day´s bus journey to Montevideo.
