6/28 Arriving!
So after about 7 1/2 hours of a smooth flight, I landed in Milan. I quickly made my way down to baggage claim and got my bag in about 10 mins. There was no real customs to go through (thank goodness!) I bought my bus ticket and rode the bus 45 mins. to the Milan train station.
I then had to buy my ticket from Milan to Naples and got right on the train. A few hours later, I got off in Naples and had to take a new train from Naples to Sorrento. On that hour long train ride, I started chatting up a young couple from Saskatchewan. We all stood for the hour and 20 min. train ride and guarded each other's bags. They were so cute and I loved their Canadian accents. When I finally arrived at the station, I said goodbye and waved to Leona who was there to meet me and take me back to the villa. It was such a sigh of relief to see her and to have finally made it to town!
I hopped in the little Fiat with Paul A's our driver. We drove about 20 mins. through Sorrento up the hill to our villa. We parked the car and walked down the 80 steps to get to the entrance.
The villa was everything I expected. Lots of wood, tile floors, bright colors. After greeting everyone and having a snack, I was relieved just to be able to sit down. I went up to the terrace that overlooks the Mediterranean and took some awesome sunset pictures. A couple hours later, we feasted on garlic toast and bruschetta, salad and penne bolognese. After spending so much time traveling, it was so nice to eat and relax.
We then played a round of "The Game of Things." I totally kicked ass, despite only having slept about 8 hours in 3 days. I took a nice long shower, claimed my bed, and had one of the nicest sleeps EVER!
