6/30 Capri... Like the pants
I woke up and the first thing I did was go downstairs and make a salami sandwich. Everyone was discussing what to do for the day. My parents, my brother, Combes and I decided to go over to Capri for the day. The rest of the group decided to get a boat and sail around Capri and Positano. At about 9:00, we parted ways and we headed to catch our bus down to the harbor.
We bought a 10:30 ticket to get on the boat to Capri. After waiting about 20 mins., our boat arrived. Sailing to Capri took about 30-40 mins. We had great views of Sorrento and we could even see out villa from the water.
Capri was a cute little town. There were shops and ristorantes along the pier. We bought tickets to get to the top of the hill in a gondola. It was sooo hot and sweaty in that thing! Once we made it to the top, we had great views of the sea and it was nice and breezy.
We made our way around town doing a lot of window shopping. The stores were the kind you would see on Rodeo Drive, so obviously nothing I could afford. After a couple hours, we made our way back to the bus to get back down the hill to the beach. We were taken to one of the rockiest beaches I had ever seen. These weren't just little pebbles. They were silver dollar sized! Most people were walking on them with no problem while I could barely go a couple steps without screaming in pain. It was also weird to see people lay their beach towels down and sunbathe on the rocks.
After being too hot in the sun, I went to a shop and bought a silver ring. The blister on my foot also told me it was time to go. We caught a bus back to the pier, stopped quickly for a panini and then got back on the boat to Sorrento.
When we got back to Sorrento, we had to climb a crazy amount of steep steps to get to the top of the hill where we would catch our bus to our little town. We stopped by a supermarket to load up on 1.5 liters of lemon fanta, my fave! We then quickly made our way back to the bus, took the bus to our town, and made the 15 min. walk back to the villa. What a day!!
After a nice nap, I awoke to the smell of dinner: gnocchi and tortellini! After getting down on some grub and doing the dishes, it was time for a game: the game of things. I didn't do as well as before, so I was happy it was over so I could take a shower and go to bed!
