I am loving the photos and postings. The penguins were very cute. Bummer about not getting to go up the volcano, but you still have done other very cool things. White water rafting looked fun, glad you are making the most of it. It made me laugh out loud when you said all the guys seem to be wearing Davidoff Cool Water in Buenos Aires, hilarious.
Well I am bumming around today. Got the day off to recover from a work trip to Darwin and Katherine. Left Darwin at 2am this morning, and then arrived in Canberra at 10am, yuk. It was so hot and sticky up there. It was a week long work trip but some interesting things included: staying at an air force base and being looked at like i was from another planet because i was the only one not in cammo (maybe it was because they could only see me!!), running away from cane toads, dealing with 40 degrees and 80% humidity, getting sun burnt after 2 minutes in the sun, the trucks (they had 4 massive carriages!!!), the lack of speed limit, going to katherine gorge, litchfield national park, and then katherine scammell ringing me when i was in katherine, weird. Speak to you soon, Christmas time i am sure. Keep having fun!! Miss you,
Love Mel.

The only other Spanish I know is 'El pueblo unido jamas sera vencido' but careful where you say it!

Hi Jess,
I cannot believe you went white water rafting! How amazing. I have just been looking at your photos from your South American experience so far and i can tell you are embracing every bit of everything new. How are the boys there? That's what I really want to know but since you are barely writing personal emails anymore (completely understand) i guess i will have to wait until you get back to hear all. Also seeing Sally must have been great. I love the photos of you to.
We all miss you here. I saw your Mum and Dad at Kylie the other night. I'm not sure what was the bigger highlight. It was great seeing your parents- I have not seen them in so long. Kylie was amazing and you were missed. To be honest though I would not have traded a trip to South Amercia for a seat though my darling.
Anyway enjoy the rest of your trip. Less than two months until you are home, although it seems i will be in sydney for 5 weeks over the summer. I'm a little nervous. However, it's about time i start my career. Not sure how a 5 week clerkship in sydney will go.
Love you. Have a ball!

Hi,
Just been checking out your new photos and journal entry -can't believe that you went white water rafting!! A pity you didn't get to climb to see the volcano -I hope the weather is clearer tomorrow. Really enjoying reading all about Chile - so many amzing things you are doing.
Loved the Kylie concert, thought about you a lots during it. As Pa said, saw all the girls there, it was so lovely to see them. With you away I miss all that. Jessie, Caty and Kelly are going to come around is few weeks and have afternoon tea with me, I'll look forward to that.
I went to Granny's this morning and we made the Xmas pudding together, so I now know what to do, the tradition is passed on and continues.
Keep having lots of fun,
Miss you
Lots of love,

Just loving the stories from Argentina and Chile - and the pictures! Hope you went to the volcano - it is not something you get to see every day. Have you met any locals or heard their stories? Have your guide tell you the story of Victor Jara when you get to Santiago.
Saw all the girls at Kylie last night. I'm sure she sang a song just for you.

Good to get your news, I'm having a relaxing time in Queensland with Chris & Graham. Home on Monday. Enjoying seeing English family photos. Hope the rest of the trip is exciting and safe. Look forward to seeing in January. Lots of love Granny

Hi Jess
Just saw this news item about one of George Bush's daughters having her bag snatched in a Buenos Aires restaurant while she was being guarded by Secret Service agents! I'm sure the moral of the story is that you are much safer by yourself!

I think you left out an "ariba" there somewhere.

Why have we not seen this artistic photo thing before? Beautiful snaps from Switzerland, looking forward to similar from Argentina.

Great Aunt Susan
Hi Jess
Finally worked out how I can post without having to publish my work email address (just don't enter it!). It only took me 9 months! Great to follow the next chapter of your travel adventures. I've particularly liked the very detailed descriptions of food eaten at various international locations. Inspirational.
I've recently returned to work after 5 weeks holiday, flat out bludging, so am finding it hard to focus or care really. But I think that's a good thing after 5 years of frenzied overwork here at the archives. Latest exhibition is quite beautiful and attracting lots of visitors. You can read a bit about it at: http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/archives/whats_on_at_the_state_records_gallery_8327.asp
Look forward to more reports & pics in Sth America. eeya eeya ondelay onderay eeya eeya!

Hey pessica!!!
Well i hope you've been getting my emails so theres really not that much to report on here. I quit my job at the seatemple?! Much happier now but have to go back on the job hunt which is a tad annoying. Job security sure is great! I do miss adeliade a lot though, especially the comforts of home and good ol' vodka bar! It sounds like you're having some fantastic adventures!! Can't wait to see all the photos! I havent even had any of mine printed yet... whoops!! thats what i plan to get for xmas, photo albums!!!! Anyway just wanted to write a quick note to say hi and that i'm glad you're having a good time. I miss you! It's now been over a year since i've seen you! crazy eh?
