Ok folks, it's Wednesday afternoon and we've just returned from our second day on the beach. Today the children invested in 2 body boards and hence I have just spent the last half hour, showering and aftersunning them.. and being amazed at the peculiar body parts one finds sand and stones!
We have settled in to our apartment now, cleaned it our way and added a few home comforts, which makes a huge difference!
The beach is lovely, the sea a little choppy, but as long as one of us supervises, the bunnies are fine!
Us Brits always seem to pull the short straw! The beaches here, are full of pebbles, but they are all flat and shiney and a pleasure to walk on - not like poor old Eastbourne where you almost break your neck trying to walk on what feels like sharp, mini rocks!!!
Last night was an experience! We appear to have arrived in Moncofa at festival time so we made our way to the town square for TORRO CERRIL DE LA DEHESILLA (The Parade of the Bull!) All the shops, had attached cages to their premises for the locals to run in to should the Bull come their way.. however the gaps were not made for larger bosoms or beer bellys so we decided to invite ourselves into the Mayors enclosure, which was a good move, as we were then ushered up on balcony for a grand view! Shame we didn't really enjoy what we saw! Fact of the matter is, it's kinda cruel if you ask us! All the young local men, high on certain substances for courage (going by the smell) were jumping in and out of these cages, taunting this poor bull, who seemed understandibly distressed! We appeared to be the only tourists there and although they seemed chuffed that we were, we didn't hang around too much! An experience of culture to remember but not really to cherish!
Funny thing was, with all the music playing in the background, I kept expecting ZORRO to turn up!
