Fuentes de Los banoş... whatever it is literally translated to in English... to us, it was quite literally a little piece of heaven and an absolute MUST to anybody visiting the Valencia region of Spain! Yesterday, it took us just under an hour to get to from Moncofa through the spectacular mountains of Spain and I would have travelled double the distance! When we arrived, it was even better than it was described... the most beautiful pool of natural spring water, in a little valley surrounded by trees, rocks and flowers and as we sat by the water, we were surrounded NOT by seagulls after our lunch, but by dragonflies and butterflies chasing and dancing around each other, spectacular in colour and MAGICAL in presence! We could have walked on further to find other larger streams, but I wasn't going anywhere... these are places you only dream of!
The water was so clear and clean you could see everything including to Jessie's horror, even the tiniest fish! Aydin and Samuel were jumping off rocks and lil'n'middle were floating around on their body boards with no waves to be concerned with! It was so beautiful, there just had to be tears! You can't visit a place like this without letting it all out! We stayed here for as long as we could then made our way home late afternoon. We finished yesterday off eating Döner Kebabs (dorums actually) on the beach for dinner...! Today we spent our last day in Moncofa, on the beach. As lovely as it is and as clean and clear, anyone with kiddliewinks needs to be aware of the waves in Moncofa. They are very volertile and you need to be on your guard! This evening we followed the locals for our choice of restaurant...we ate mussels and Aydin had octopus and as lovely as it was...there wasn't enough! Just had to go for ice cream after!
