Hello everyone! It's been a while!
Where do I start? As many of you know, I got bad sunburn on my legs after forgetting to put suncream on them...this resulted in blisters forming on my legs, and me ending up in hospital where they popped the blisters and covered them with some kind of surgical liquid. This was the most excruciating pain I have ever gone through...I was screaming, crying and begging them to stop, but they didn't show much sympathy. It really did feel like I was being tortured. The hospital advised me to stay overnight, but I had such a traumatic experience, so I flat out refused to stay!
Last weekend, Alex came to stay with me in bandarawela. Him, Samuel and I decided to take a trip to Ella and climb a small mountain called 'Little Adam's Peak'. (Yes, I climbed a mountain with my legs!!), to climb the mountain, we sometimes had to walk along a 10 inch wide path thingy...on one side it was safe, on the other, there was a sheer vertical drop, kinda scary! But it was awesome! The views were amazing...even photos cannot capture how amazing it all was! Mountains as far as the eye can see, with swirling clouds. I will remember that for the rest of my life!
After another week of teaching, we decided to take a trip to Weligama on the south coast of Sri Lanka...all the other volunteers came along too, so it was nice for the 6 of us to be together again! We spent the weekend catching up and swimming in the sea, which is absolutely beautiful. The water is turquoise, but at the same time, it's so clear, you can see the bottom! The sea is relatively calm, but there are a fair few waves which are really cool because they are so strong, you get pulled backwards and forwards to and from shore.
I have to say I absolutely love Sri Lanka and I wish I was staying just a little longer. Maybe I'll even move here :-p.
That's all for now. Ta raaaa! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
