After a great weekend back in Sydney we were on our way again!
The blue Mountians are only about 2 hours away from Sydney and are a must-see. We rocked up into a little town called called Katoomba. you wouldn't think that this town was so close to such natural beauty, it was so strange.
As we were getting over a heavy few days of drinking we decided to hold back on any kind of trekking until the next day. The Lonely Planet claims that the mountains are alot cooler but we found the mid day heat just a stifling as it was in Sydney! We stayed on quite a cute little camp site just a short walk away from the national park.
The park has the most unbelievable views of the mountains. which can be seen taking a ride on the cable cart and sky-walk or the view points which were just as impressive. There does actually appear to be a blue sheen over the mountians and we have never seen as much forest for as far as the eye can see. It was amazing!
There are 3 main rocks that jut out that are known as the 3 Sisters which look really cool and have are important part of Aborigional history. There was such a sense of peace and beauty within the park, maybe we could sense the aborigional spiritualness???
Next port of call....Newcastle & Port Stephens
