Hiya All,
latest update, before laeving queenstown to head over to Te Anau we went up a mountain and tobogganed (sledge with wheels) down- lots of fun and wacky races! at thre bottom of the chair lift there was a bird and wildlife centre and we are well impressed as seen a proper live kiwi and introduced to a Tuatara- a three eyed dinosaur-we kid you not! saw some other wildlife too, and also some Mauri culture dancing and singing, real life Haika thigh slapping and all! was interesting morning before we headed south pit stopping at Te Anau for night before mini bus tour to Milford sound. we made the most amazing bar BQ tea the night we arrived, was awesome with some new zealand wine to wash it down all in the sun, not to make you all jealous or anything!!
trip to Milford Sound was amazing, saw some big waterfalls that we got dipped in, weren't that impressed as true to Brit fashion we had shorts and sandals on and it was cold! The fiordland was ike nothing we've ever seen before, really spectacualr, also saw some seals basking on the rocks at the bottom of the cliffs-very cute.
back in queenstown now as we trek back up north, we are well impressed though, due to their botch up and fully booked staus due to Easter they have let us pitch on a little bit of their land...for free- awesome! heading north tomorrow early doors towards Christchurch, we have a whitewater rafting trip booked for 25th over the 4/5 garde rapids, we very excited, must have caught the thrill bug!
will blog again when more time, love to all,
the girls
