Went for breakfast at the Manor department store again to set us up for the day. Then we took the ferry across the like to visit the suburb of Geneva called Carouge. It was full of boutique shops and bistros, picked a few souvenirs which was good. Headed back to he hostel as we needed to get to the airport a few hours early and after a short wait we finally got there. Check in and drop off of luggage was painless and quick however going through the security check was nerve wracking and we realised that some of the souvenirs we had in hand luggage (so they wouldn't break) might get taken from us as were sharp objects. We probably looked a bit dodgy going through staring at our bags and then looking relived when they got through fine! Relief for us but now slightly unsure about the effectiveness of airport security!!! Flight was great- pretty much as soon as we got up we were coming back down. Walking out of the plane felt amazing as the heat was boiling and there were palm trees everywhere. Definitely felt like a summer holiday. Got to our hotel easily and were so happy with our room/apartment. So funky and modern and even had a little balcony and cove area for us to chill out on. Walk in shower with loads of settings and a funky hand tap! Perfect. We were hungry (happens often) so walked to the port harbour area and found a sweet little restaurant for dinner. We were happy with the portion sizes and price- we even bought a bottle of prosecco :-) walked round the port afterwards and saw the huge boats- one even had an aquarium in the back which generated a lot of attention! We gathered a few hints and tips of information from an old man who was also looking at the boats and headed back to drink our second bottle of prosecco that we had bought at the shop beforehand. Sat on the balcony with music, prosecco and good company in a gorgeous apartment in Nice... What more could two girls ask for? :-)
