So from Puno we got a bus to Cuzco but after about an hour into the journey (9pm) i started to feel ill with a really dodgy tummy! - not good on a coach! We arrived in Cuzco about 2.30am but where told we could stay and sleep on the bus till the morning which is what we tried to do but my stomach was really playing up, not sure if it was the altitude sickness or a bug i caught or just having eaten food made with v unclean hands in Lake titicaca. But anyway at 6am we got off the bus and ended up getting a taxi to our hotel as we couldnt find our transfer. As soon as we arrived i was sick and we both just went straight to bed, only to be woken up an hour later by our transfer guide saying he was here at the hotel, so we went and met with him and paid for our trip up to Machu Picchu for the next day. We then collapsed back into bed till the afternoon. When i was feeling a bit better but by then Vic had started to feel ill, as we needed to go out to get some more money and i thought some fresh air might help i had a little wander round Cuzco which is lovely, quite touristy but nice. We then watched a bit of TV and had a very early night as we were getting up at 6am the next day if we were feeling up to it.
Well yesterday we woke at 6 and i was feeling better but still a bit dizzy and wobbly and Vic was still feeling rough but we decided to just go on the trip anyway and take it at our own pace, so a taxi picked us up and took us to the train station for 7am where we got the train that took 4 hours up to Aguas Caliente from there we jumped on a bus up to Machu Picchu where we tried to eat something but our stomaches failed us. We then we ditched our guide as we felt we couldnt keep up with a group feeling how we did so we just wandered around taking pics and stopping and resting, as it was really hot which didnt help us. After a few hours we got the bus back down to Aguas Caliente and wandered round the market there before getting the train home (taking even longer 4and a half hrs!) and then a taxi back to the hotel where we once again collapsed into bed.
This morning i would almost go as far to say Im feeling fine now although Vic is still feeling dodgy, so we have just wandered around cuzco today doing a bit of shopping and still trying to get my head round the fact that its our last day!
The photos Im really struggling to put up here in Peru so I promise i will upload them as soon as im back, cant wait to see you all
