Well we arrived in Chile and it is still very cold here, but we were so tired we just booked into a hostel from the airport went there and went straight t bed for a couple of hours, the hostel when we woke up again we found was freezing cold and very shabby, but it had to do for the time being. We got up and had a wander down the ruond and grabbed a htdog for dinner before heading back to the room and to bed.
Our first full day in chile we wrapped up and just walked about the city discovering Plaza de Armas but we found loads of things closed and it very empty on the streets. We also went to a couple of other hostels but they had no room for us but we did find out it was a bank holiday which explains why everything was closed and it was so dead on the streets. On the walk back to our hostel we called into a hotel round the corner which had a room free and seemed warmer and cost the same.
So yesterday morning we moved out of the freezing hostel and int a slightly warmer one. Again we spent the day mosing around and found it to be much busier and livlier and all the markets and shops were open so bought a couple of souvenirs - god knows how we're gonna close our bags again!! Vic also found out that her old friend from Prrimary school is here in Chile so has emailed him to see if he's in Santiago and maybe we might meet up with him. We also saw Cerro Santa Lucia and went to the Plaza de Armas again which was filled with people playing chess!? We went for dinner and then back at the hotel the radiator in our room was on - luxury!!!
This morning we had a massive long lie in and then showered and then gt on the email to send emails to loads of hostels in Buenos Aires to see if they have any room as we're going there tmorrow. Think the wweathers going to be the same there as it is here but thhink the city will have a lot more to offer (hopefully) and we're gonna try to arrange a couple of trips out of BA while we're in Argentina too.
