Took a 7 hour bus from PP to Saigon in Vietnam….The journey went quicker then we expected and we had some nice people on our bus…..Not only was there people on our bus but 2 massive tractor tyres wedged in the gangway. Don’t even ask!! This is not even the end of the funny things which happened on the bus! The air vent fell down and whacked this woman on the head, water was dripping from the ceiling and I almost had my rucksack fall off the back shelf onto my head! Also when we stopped in a local village the bus was attacked by street sellers and children. It’s mad on these buses I tell you!!!!! The other day on our journey from SR-PP there wasn’t enough room for all the passengers so they got out stalls and placed them in the gangway! I Remember when I was on airport pick-up when I was a Thomas Cook rep in Spain- this kind of thing would NEVER happen on the coaches as health and safety was so strict…It is of course very different in Asia!
We arrived at the border, had our visas checked and passports stamped then had a further 2 hours ride to Saigon…That night we went and checked out the Saigon night life! We met some funny Irish lads and had some drinks or 10 with them! We got one the lads to eat some dried smelly squid from a street seller, yummy you know you want some! Managed to continue our fun after the bar shut and ended up randomly buying about 10 packs of massive M and Ms to munch on….
Today we explored Saigon, got rickshaws to ferry us around and take in the sights. We visited one of the local markets to…..
Next we plan to catch the bus up to Nha Trang where scuba diving is the plan...Can’t wait !!
Love to all and big hugs xxxxx
