Today I got to sleep in again and it was fantastic! After a shower I headed back to the boardwalk for some food and possibly to buy some gifts for people back home. I needed to get something for like 12 people so I was going to have to do this cheap!
I decided to walk all the way down the boardwalk area, it is enormous! I found a restaurant called Penguin Cafe and had pancakes for brunch as well as an iced coffee, again absolutely delicious! The pancakes are made from a really thin dough and they are cut in triangles, then they cover them with chopped pears, melon, watermelon and bananas then drizzle all of it with honey! So fantastically delicious I can't even tell you! After eating (all for 29 LE) I sat around in the sunny side of the Bedouin and worked on my tan for a couple hours.
Then I headed back into the marketplace and different shops and got all my gifts for people back home, I'd say all in all I pry only spent about 130-200 LE and I got spices, teas, a 6 piece Egypt cup set, purse, wallet, 6 piece camel chain, lots of magnets, notebook/pen set, bookmark, necklace, scarab bracelet and postcards! I'm sure I paid a bit more than I should have but I did haggle with each shop keep about 3 times and never paid their full asking price for anything, it was quite a lot of fun.
I loved talking to all the shop keeps, a lot were my age and many were older, all were super friendly and hospitable (sure some of it is because they want my business but I do believe they are good people).
Then I headed back to the house just as Kiki was getting home and now its time to relax till Lisa gets back. Once she got back we headed to the bus station to get our tickets to Cairo. We rode in a taxi (which is basically the back of a pick up truck!) It was fun, hadn't done that since I was a kid! Afterwards we went with Kiki back to the boardwalk and met up two of her friends, we spent the night just talking about a lot of different topics, Judaism, Egypt, the next days adventures, cereal, etc., it was a nice way to wind down.
