I'm HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Firstly though I quickly need to right about my last week in Bali .. where was I? With Becca in Ubud. Having spent Monday shopping and organising myself I was hit by a bout of Bali Belly at night. Fortunately for Tuesday I hadn't booked to cycle Mount Batur instead I'd chosen the cheap option to go with a group around some temples and to Kintamini to see the volcano and then rice paddies. Wayan at the guesthouse at managed to convince others staying there to do the same trip and so her husband and a friend drove us all. I was feeling fairly ropey and didn't eat all day but managed to see what I wanted to. On Wednesday the weather was nice enough for myself and Becca to have a late breakfast and leisurely morning observing the expats before lying by the pool in a local hotel! That night we went out for our last meal and a cheeky beer!
On Thursday I left Ubud at midday for Sanur, I found another guesthouse down a gang not far from the Perama office and wandered along the beachwalk for some lunch and to finally lie in the sun on a hotel lounger. Friday was my 3rd rabies injection, I took a taxi to Sangalah hospital Denpasar and then back to the main town of Sanur. After breakfast I wandered along the front again until I found a cheap spot in the sun!
I'd considered heading to the Gillis and again meeting up with Becca but I wanted to chill and not travel too far as well as be back in Kuta to shop so on the Saturday I instead to decided to take boat across to Nusa Lembongan. There I found a lovely room right on the beach and spent a couple of days wandering the island, taking photos, reading and topping up my tan!
Back in Kuta I found a basic room, did some shopping and spent a day by the pool - basically killing time until my flight home!
Just as I was about to check in at Denpasar I checked my phone to see a missed call and 2 messages from my Mum. A few weeks earlier I'd reapplied for the climate change job in Leicester that I'd waited on the summer before, I hadn't heard anything so assumed I was unsuccessful but now, as I was about to board a plane for 10 hours SFS were trying to get hold of me to arrange a phone interview and within the next 24 hours!!! I had an 11 hour stop over in Doha, Qatar so I arranged to do it there thinking I'd be able to use the internet to prep and skype to call. I checked in and boarded the first plane which after dinner and an hour or so stopped in Singapore before continuing on to Doha. I arrived in Qatar stupidly early only to find there wer no internet terminals and my phone didn't work ... so the interview never happened! Eventually after a lot of unneccessary free meals I boarded my final plane home!! Dave & Helen met me at Heathrow and after a couple of hours on the road I was finally back in LEICESTER!!
What life holds now I just don't know. The last week has been busy applying for jobs, doing some temping and also attending interviews!! Hopefully I'll find a job I want and be successful soon and after a few years I can travel some more!! But for now the Big Trip is over and a new chapter begins!!!
Thanks to everyone at home for support and messages, I've missed you all. And to everyone I met who may be reading this we've had a great laugh, keep in touch, you'll always be in my memories!! And I hope to see all soon!
