Well we have been in 'Surfers Paradise' since Thursday evening after arriving on the Greyhound bus from 'Byron Bay'. We are only staying for a few days, leaving on Sunday lunchtime. 'Surfers Paradise' is our first stop in Queensland. It is fair to say that of all the "Gold Coast" areas it is the most built up. It is a cross between Benidorm and Blackpool - very touristy with a lot of high rise buildings!! Neeley and I have called it "the highrise paradise!"....

Well we have now arrived in Byron Bay. It was only 4h on the coach from Coffs Harbour. We have spent today (Friday) lying on the beach - on the white sand near the clear green/blue water!! It has a real nice chilled out vibe here, it is not really full because it is heading into Autumn but the weather is still really nice! Well we reached "Coffs Harbour" after a 9h journey on the Greyhound coach from Sydney. At 7am we were met by the representative from the YHA, with a free pick up to the hostel - BONUS!! "Coffs Harbour" is a nice quiet town about 4h from "Byron Bay", a good place to stop off and have a chill out.
