Stop 1 - Las Vegas
SO after a 10 hr flight and then a 1.5 hr wait for bags an a 30min journey Freddie and I finally arrived at the Excalibur...I was shattered, as remember Vegas is 8hrs behind, so it was early hrs UK time when I arrived but I was determined to stay awake as late as I could to get on Vegas time....OK so I managed 730pm haha!! ( I am so rockj and roll its unreal really isnt it...dont be JEL)
The hotel is FAB and I love my room with 2 queen size beds...and yes youve guessed it the first thing I done was jump from 1 to the other haha.....big kid in me what can I say, forward rolls the lot...I mean when in Vegas and all that haha
Hats off the American Security at the airport....I was interigated about my stay (literally), plus they take your pic and do finger prints....shame UK cant take a leaf out of their book hey!!! And even though I knew I had nothing to hide/had done nothing wrong...I was sweatin......proper sweat fest I felt ashamed!!!
OMG words cant not even explain this place, it is out of this world....and when I first arrived I felt like a borrower (you know them small people that live in mouse holes)....it is very overwhelming but after a good nights sleep I was feeling refreshed and ready to explore....and explore I did
Everytime people had said to me "OMG u will love Vegas" you always think people are exaggerating...but OMG not they are not...it is unreal!!
At 6am every morning I was up and off the Gym (YES you read it right) THE GYM and it was a great way to start my day and get focussed.....cant be letting myself go on the hols now can I haha......lovely little gym and deffo set me up for the day!!
On my first full day I walked the entire strip and back...took me four hours and I gained a few blisters along the way....then the next day I did it all again but this time popping into some hotels along the way to see what they had going on....the hotels are amazing, nothing like I ever imagined....the detail that has gone into some of them is just unreal...you literally cant believe it until you see it. (walking and sweating.....multi tasking at its best)
Its taken me a while to get used to the $$ and adding tax to stuff....but I am getting the hang of it and I have managed to buy some lovely bits n bobs to bring home and a few little things for me as well....well you gotta treat yourself once in a while havnt you!!
I have actually loved relaxing by poolside and enjoying some rest....but saying that Ive been up at 6am every morning and gone to the gym haha....yes I will never learn how to fully relax will I!!!
Am I the only person ever to come to Vegas and not go clubbing? but imagine seriously me raving on my own...hmmm I know Im a bit different but I just couldnt.....plus I just never felt like it after a day of walking and exploring I just wanted to sleep!!
Freemont Street was amazing...a fully lit roof showcasing music and video....you really can imagine it...but check out the pics to get a feel for it, it gave a real look of old school vegas back in the 70s and it was great.....some very weird people there but hey weird rocks!!
Ive met some lovely people (American and English) whilst I have been here....everyone is soooo friendly and chatty and always got a smile...can I live here please?? I mean the weather make you wanna move here on its own.....HOT HOT HOT....HEY Im not saying people back home arent friendly, but its different here......
I have LOVED every minute of Vegas...and although when I first arrived I was tired, groggy and a little (ok a lot) overwhelmed by it all, I soon settled and feel very at ease here and everything has been amazing.....I shall cherish the memories of Vegas forever and now I look forward to heading to San Fran tomorrow
