Stop 6 - Boston
I arrived in Boston after a 6 hour train journey from Philly....well it was actually 6.5 hours, as the train rudely decided to break down just outside of Bawwwston (thats how the locals pronounce it...hilar).....and all I could think of was "OMG another train is going to come along and crash and squish us" > yeh Jen ok!
Arriving in Boston I done the usual.....unpacked, txt mum to let her know I was here (you know at 29 you still gotta do these things) and then off I went to get some food shopping...Im a right domesticated so an so lately....Im sure I'll make some a good wife one day...hmmmm anyways so with that all sorted I walked around the hostel and got familiar with it, it only got built last year so its all new and sparkly....off to bed early ready to explore. (by the way I found Sweet Potatoes...at the Grocery Store -haha- and I was thrilled....yes its the small things that make me happy)
First full day in Boston..up for a run and a interval session in local park before stuffing my face at Brekkie....now I was very excited to find "eggs"...yes I know its daft but I had missed eggs for brekkie so much....yummmy!!! I made up my packed lunch and off I went.
I started off at Boston Common, following the "Freedom Trail" and seeing all the historical sites (see pics for evidence haha)....and already I am thinking "WOW what a beautiful place Boston is".....after this I found myself at Fenuial Hall and Quincy Market....lovely little part of town with an indoor and outdoor food market and also little stalls selling all kinds plus a shopping centre...pretty quirky...and the best part of all I found a Christmas Shop...yes I am officially like Elf GPS....and they were advertising for staff.....so I was thinking I will just move to Boston and work there...that ok?? I then trotted off to "The Boston Tea Party" (which I got to by a lovely stroll down the Harbour)...it was so cute and quaint....all people dressed in Pilgrim Style Costumes...and I went to a TeaTasting (how very British of me).....sipping my tea out of a china cup with my little finger stuck out.....haha not really it was a paper cup and I was more slurping than sipping, you know me...always the lady. This day was finished off by me going on a pub crawl with the hostel, well more like 1 bar and 2 beers later and Jen was ready for bed, an in all a lovely day!!
2nd (and last) full day! Up and the usual before heading out...today I went to newbury street (just all shops) and then to Prudential Centre, lovely views and I (by mistake) came across the site were the Boston Bombs went off....OMG I got shivers, weird how being somewhere like that can make you feel all shivery and makes you think, wow....and it was only about 4 months ago eeekkkk!!!! BOSTON STRONG!!!! I then grabbed a frappachino (you know, as you do) and sat in Boston Common for a while...watching the world go by (ok gegging in on peoples lives haha)....this last day was topped off by watching "Peter Kay live at Bolton" on my laptop with a cuppa, hoummous and crackers...haha oh how very Northern of me.
Boston is a beautiful place, so many lovely little spots......actually can I live here? I mean the Christmas Shop I found are looking for staff, and we all know I am an Elf...so maybe this is a sign.....hmmmm!!! Maybe this is actually what I am destined to do, maybe Santa sent me here...OMG the possibilities are endless!!!
Boston You have stolen my heart...I Love You and wish we had longer...until next time *hugs* and now its finally time for NYC and I to meet!! "Start Spreading the newss......"
