G'day!
Apologies, it has been a terribly long time since we have last made contact! Hopefully the following entry will go some way to reactify our sheer laziness...we're just enjoying the relaxed beach lifestyle in Noosa too much!!
Where did we leave off?...we were just about to leave Sydney and head to Surfers Paradise via Surf Camp. We bid Sydney farewell very early (6.30 AM!) on the morning of Saturday 9th Sept. It was just a day of travelling - we saw the Big Banana at Coffs Harbour, and then we hit the Mojo Surf Camp. That night was good fun, the morning not so much...We were woken up at 6AM, force fed bacon and egg rolls, squeezed in to wetsuits and thrown in to the sea! Surfing was really good fun, we both stood up, it's irrelevent for how long, we stood up! :) The best bit about the experience was definitely when dolphins turned up to surf with us, it was incredible how close they came in. After surfing we hit the road again and were in Byron Bay by the early afternoon.
On the bus we had met some lovely girls - Amanda, Emma and Vicky - so we shared a Dorm room with them. Whilst in Byron we fully embraced the Beach Bum mentality! Pretty much just chilled out for the three days we were there. Although, on the first day we took our lives in our hands, hired bikes and rode up to the point and Byron Bay Lighthouse. The views from there were incredible, looking right back down over the bay. The best part of the day was seeing humpback whales migrating, at first we only saw splashes and spurts in the distance but then one came in close and waved at us :) We also saw loads of dolphins...and a jellyfish! The nightlife in Bryon was...interesting...the only place to go was a cheesy place called Cheeky Monkeys!
From Byron we headed to Surfers Paradise, it only took a little while to get there and we only stopped once - at Danger Point to take photos of the Gold Coast in the distance. Surfers Paradise was an equally chilled experience - had a brilliant night out there, chilled on the beach, then it was time to leave.
Next stop Brisbane.....but the internet cafe's about to shut so stay tuned for the next installment...!
Lots of Love, J and K x x x
