We went to a museum today and learned about hurricane Tracey that hit in the 70s on Christmas eve wiping out the entire north eastern coast and thousands were killed and everyone else had to be evacuated, I think that must be part of why the north is so behind the times, it seems like every time they make progress war or natural disaster seems to wipe them out. Today we went to a beautiful swim hole where you could walk down these amazing rock stairs right into the water, with sandstone on both side, it was very pretty. Then we went on the Catherine river gorge cruise and got to look at the amazing forge system eroded over thousands of years by the flood seasons.
