Around the World Forever
Today, James and I took off in a little Audi sports car he borrowed from his buddy to do an all day driving loop through the Scottish Highlands and burn a couple tanks of gas on the twisty back roads. And at $8 dollars a gallon, I say why wouldn't you?
The scenery was amazing as well as the sense of history you get from this place. Sometimes, the countryside reminded me of the woods back home in Pennsylvania but there was clearly something different to it as well. I can't put my finger on it but perhaps it was the fact that Scotland has castles in places where we would have put a trailer park.
This was a great day trip and I loved being able to visit some of the places I have only heard of until now such as Loch Ness. Surprisngly, I did not see the Loch Ness Monster as promised. Don't tell anyone I said this but I think it may be a tourist scam.
