I took the ferry over to Isla Mujeres to explore the island and go to the beach. This place is a lot more laid back and relaxed than the beaches in Cancun´s hotel district, although, spring break is starting to wind down here. Today, the adventure really began. I said good bye to the U.S. and flew to Cancun via Atlanta and Indianapolis. As luck would have it, I sat next to Lily and Carolina from Merida, Mexico. Today, my brother, mom, dad, and I took a high speed ferry from Fort Myers to Key West. The trip started out pretty smooth. Then, we hit 6 foot swells on the Gulf of Mexico and the high speed ferry instantly became the "barf barge". People turned green and were puking all around us. Pennsylvania is long behind me now and I am enjoying the warm weather in Florida. So far, I have been able to borrow a computer to write these quick updates and upload photos. Once I get to Mexico and beyond, I am not sure how often this will be possible but I will try. Today I walked around the Naples Pier area and downtown with Mom & Dad.

Finally, departure day is here. All of my possessions have either been sold or placed in storage. What's left has to fit in my backpack that will accompany me around the world for the next couple years. My roommate Jeff drove me to the Harrisburg airport for my flight to Florida. After 10 days, I fly to Mexico where I will travel south through Central and South America for the next year or so.
