Happy 4th of July!!!! After 10 days on the island ... not sure how I ended up there for so long but the biggest lie heard on Utila is "I´m leaving tomorrow" followed by "I´m not drinking tonight" ... anyway, I decided to get moving again. My last dive was amazing as I was able to swim just 2 feet away from a Hawksbill sea turtle until he got bored and left me behind. I met a lot of really cool people but now my spanish sucks from using english too much....

As of this afternoon, I now have my Open Water Certification to scuba dive to 60 feet. The whole experience was really cool even though a lot of it was developing skills needed for rare emergency situations. Tomorrow, I have 2 free "fun dives" where I can just swim around and enjoy the coral reefs and all the wild life without having to demonstrate skills to the instructor. I am trying to get pics posted but the Internet is slow here. That's all for now...

I have been on the move since my last update from Copan. After a couple days in San Pedro Sula, Honduras' 2nd largest city, I traveled to the small village of Omoa, right on the Caribbean Sea. I haven't seen the Atlantic Ocean since I left Belize and the hot, humid temperatures remind me of being back there. There isn't too much to do in Omoa which is why some people come, but they did have a pretty cool old Spanish fort to check out. After a one night stay here...

I stopped in Copan Ruinas to check out the famous ruins here. These are some of the best preserved and the most studied ruins in the Mayan world and are not to be missed. The small tourist town here is pretty nice and a cool place to meet other travelers. In the pictures, you see a ball court with 3 head like objects on each side. Yesterday, I said goodbye to all my friends in San Salvador and jumped on a bus to La Palma, El Salvador. However, I wasn't paying attention and went right past the town. I didn't realize where I was until the bus stopped in El Poy, the border town with Honduras. So I figured I'd just cross the border and be in a new country. It was the easiest border crossing so far.
