I am in San Salvador, the ultra modern capital city and the nightlife here is, borrowing an expression from one of my British friends, "proper amazing". They use the US dollar so for the first time in over two months, I am using good ole American greenbacks. There are more guns here than at an NRA convention as well over 18,000 are employed as armed security guards. They are standing around guarding everything. The shopping malls, coffee shops, Wendy's... "biggie size it and throw in an armed guard to go please"... absolutely everything. So far, I've been able to take a day trip to the beach and check out some other sights around the city. I'm not sure when I'm moving on but it's actually kind of expensive here so I should probably get moving to a smaller town and eventually Honduras.
