Around the World Forever
Even Colombia recognizes a rare gem when they find it and the colonial village of Villa de Leyva is living proof. The town has been around since 1572 and modern architecture is almost non-existent. Colombia has been protecting it as a national monument since 1954. There's not much going here but the people are friendly and welcoming. The two days I spent here passed by slowly with me just walking around the quiet old streets pretending to be a National Geographic photographer. Oddly, the most fun thing I did was get a haircut where the hairdresser, her assistants, and I decided to pick on the Chileans and their **** version of spanish. The worst thing I did was have to help the owner of my little hotel move her paraplegic kid into his wheelchair every morning. I had to take a shower immediately after picking him up because my arms smelled like ****....disgusting. Clearly, nursing never was or will be my calling....although I have been falsely accused of "nursing" a beer once. Anyway, this stop is more about the picturesque photos than what went on here.....´cause that wasn't much. Going north.....................
