It just doesn't stop. Following the parades, it's time to hit the street and meet the hosts of this amazing party, the local Colombians. The guests of honor, if you haven't yet figured it out, is rum and aguardiente. The parties continue until the wee hours in the morning when you need to make a critical decision, sleep or go to an after party. And don't forget, the next parade is just a few hours away as well. It's all a balancing act really and you just go with the flow. This entry is more or less a place to put the photos that aren't from the parades. I met a lot of great Colombians and it's clearly important to them that tourists leave here with a new respect and appreciation for Colombia since they know they have a bad international reputation from the drug cartels and trafficking. So this finishes Carnival 2009. Will I be back someday???? Does a bear **** in the woods??? Is a frog's ass water tight??? Of course!
