Around the World Forever
I left Caye Caulker for San Ignacio. Since it was Sunday morning, I took a chance and walked to the bus terminal from the water taxi dock. I figured all the crack heads and junkies would still be sleeping off their Saturday night hangovers and I was right. The streets were empty. When I rode the buses in Mexico, they were all very nice and air conditioned. Not anymore! From here on out I'll be on chicken buses ... which are basically old school buses from the US they somehow manage to keep running. They cost almost nothing to ride, smell funny, and only provide air conditioning if the driver goes fast and the window near you is open. And they pack 'em full, which would be fine if I was the size of an 8 year old school girl, but that's not the case for me or anyone else riding this damn bus! Two and half hours later, I was in San Ignacio, a hiking, biking, swimming, outdoorsy pot of gold at the end of the adventure rainbow and a nice safe town.
