I really liked Sedona, and could have stayed longer. Sal liked it, but wasn't into the 'new-age' atmosphere, and all the Japanese and Korean tour-groups were annoying her, so she was ready to move on! Sadly, she couldn't find a fridge-magnet with 'Sedona rocks!' on it, and I failed to locate a t-shirt with a slogan like 'I went to Sedona and had my chakra realigned', very poor! A long drive today, we left California, drove along a section of Route 66, and entered Arizona. We noticed when we passed into AZ that there were a lot more churches than we'd seen in Cali. We spotted a church with a 'guns and ammo' shop next door, I didn't spot if they were doing any special offers for 'Rapture Saturday'! On the way from Palm Springs to Needles, we took a detour into the famous Joshua Tree National Park. It was a bit like a sunnier version of Blaenau Ffestiniog, bleak but beautiful, with probably less drugs, drink, and domestic violence than Blaenau, too! So we left Santa Monica, managed to find our way out of LA, and drove into the desert, for our stay in Palm Springs. Prince in the 'hood (have we mentioned we went to see Prince?) was going to be a hard act to follow, but the following day we were up early for a trip to the Getty Museum and Hollywood, and we were really looking forward to it.
