Hello, We made it across the border with no probs..they did let us in the country, even though it is still quite strict, obviously joanne and I aren't that threatening to society. So we hit Saigon a couple of days ago. It is a really French city, with baguetes galore. We visited the tunnels used by the Viet Cong in the Cu Chi district, it was so scary, they were really tiny and we got to actually go down into them wich was very very claustrophobic...we were both a bit wussy and had to turn back...we wouldn't make very good guerilla fighters. Anyway it was really interesting seeing the whole set up, whole villages used to hide from the Americans down there. Afterwards we visited the war vrimes museum which was very sobering, there was a huge photography exhibition covering the whole war...a bit scary. So we had a very imformative but very sad week havinggone to the killing fields and genocide museum in Cambodia a couple of days earlier. So now we are at the beach hooray! Jon is very excited! There aren't many tourists here, especially europeans so the whole long beach is absoloutely deserted, although a bit dirty!never mind We are still enjoying ourselves far too much, but we will never go south again! We are pretty much on our way North and West from now on! hope you are all ok! love jecsx
