Well we have enjoyed a rather pleasant but lengthy flight into Singapore. We had yummy food, heaps of movies/shows/CD's/games etc, plenty of service and was quite comfy-even a little pillow and blankie on our seats when we hopped on! Cute! So glad we paid the bit extra for Singapore Airlines - new faves by far!
We stepped off the plane to a pleasing 30 degrees and humidity level which felt like it must be somewhere in the hundreds!! Couldn't wait to get the Ice Breaker tights off - wanted to rip them off me on the tarmac! From the airport we took a little drive through The City and ended up at our lil hostel in China Town. It is dingy with some crazy (not so beautiful) smells round every corner but we love it. Such crazy things to see every minute, like a massive crew of Asians Lion Dancing in full cowboy attire-boots, belts and cowboy hats! Confused?!?
Singapore is beautiful. It's hectic, crazy, but groomed to perfection and the architecture ranges from sleek glass buildings to temples to palaces to dingy old buildings with washing hanging out the windows on poles. The City is also so colourful! Like plants, trees and flowers everywhere. The buildings are also so colourful it's so odd to see bright blue, green, gold and yellow buildings! But here they are everywhere!!
We tried to go to the Singapore Zoo today.. Took the journey by train which to begin with was way confusing for me (ok still is), lucky Tim is here!! Anyway, we finally arrive and it is pouring rain - like pissing down!! So that was barred, we ended up seeing the Shrek movie instead ha ha and wondering the shopping malls but too poor to buy anything! The shopping centres here are amazing as well.. The food courts are HUGE so Tim is stoked on that! I have also never ever seen so many designer labels in one place. Gucci, D & G, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton all line the streets. There are even cues out the front of each store to get in! Its so fun not being able to afford anything…. Pause…. NOT!
The food is um…. interesting to say the least! Tim is in love - Asian is definitely his fav cuisine! I am struggling a little but have decided today to just stick to the basics, prawn dumplings for breakfast, lunch & dinner and the Ultra Clear is getting a workout!!! The food in the stalls on the side of the roads is actually the best!! So would not have thought!! And at 3 Singapore dollars a plate, it's definitely the way to go!
Well we are super sleepy kids with very tender feet but also feeling rather content. Could so get used to this no-working lifestyle! We are so excited to shut our eyes so till next time… xx

Mandelina Hi There you two little travellers... Absolutely loved the very first officially on the trip, blog. Great writing too Jas, lots of great obsrervations of all around you, Loved the part about the architecture too. Mama had said how very clean everything is in Singapore. I am so glad you got to the zoo. Everyone talks about it and I know you were very keen to see it. We are all great here. Dad and I popped over to Moreton for the night on Sat after you left. Its as beautiful as ever. We had dinner with Phil and Liz so it was great to catch up with them and hear all the island goss. Poor old Theo is nearly dead. He has oxygen all the time. Angie is waiting on a kidney and is very sick. Gee its pretty dismal goss isnt it. Thats why you have got to get out there and see this crazy beautiful world of ours hey, just like you two are ! Yes Court and I tried the Ultra Clear diet... failed miserably, eating by lunch time Day 1! I posted your letters to the old work mates today. They will be sooo excited when they get them wont they. They will all be missing you at the work place.Thet will be bored s***less ! Its turning cold here today, about 21 degrees today but its going to be cold overnight. Tate and Fletch just popped in, they were going for a quick walk on the beach but it got very dark very fast. Tate was on her way back from Brisbane... so that was cute. Epthemia was admitted to the bar today so thats exciting. Mama and Pa are both good. Pa is getting a bit better each day but it was a nasty flu. Rhett is a lot better with his little bladder problem. Gee we are a mottly lot health wise at the minute ! Hayley is getting married in two weeks at Debs and Gordies house at Angourie. That will be spectacular. I cant wait to see the photos. Hayley will look beautiful, esp with all the fitness she has been doing. Court and I are snuggled on the lounge watching the news. Rhett has popped out to play with Jazz, the kid just up the street here. Ok take care and have lots of fun exploring the world. You will very soon be off to London and that is going to be wonderful, especially seeing the girls too. Lots of love Mandelina xox xox
