Time to hit the road again! I said goodbye to Myles, who was so awesome for letting me stay with him, and then I was on my way to Switzerland! The train went past some gorgeous scenery and the further it took me, the more excited I became. Eventually I reached the town of Interlaken which is nestled between the mountains and a glacial lake. Walking to my hostel, Balmer's, with the Alps in the background was an incredible moment. As soon as I got to reception, I met two Americans named Chris and Greg who had just come from Munich as well (they were even at Kocherlball!). We dropped our stuff in our rooms and then were hanging out in the beer garden outside the hostel when we met two more Americans named Drew and Kristian. Underneath the hostel is a bar called Metro so we went down to check it out, hearing that Balmer's is legendary as a party hostel. There was probably 10 other people at the most downstairs so we entertained ourselves with drinking games before people started calling it a night. Greg and I and the girls from his room decided to search for a better nightlife in the area but as we were walking down the street, a guy passed us and shouted "You're going the wrong way! The party's at Balmer's!". We figured since he was walking around with a boombox on his shoulder that he knew what he was talking about, but seeing as the Metro bar was practically dead tonight we ended up playing a game of hide-and-seek in the streets of Interlaken and then went to bed! Tomorrow the four boys and I are planning to embark on an all-day hike into the Alps which is the whole reason I came to Switzerland!
