Jay's Journey
It had been some time since I had caught up with Justin and, earlier today, I was passed a message from him, to the effect that I had been remiss in not telling him that I would be in town and that I should call him to arrange to meet up for dinner. This I dutifully did and once again it was a very enjoyable evening.
Stephen and I took the Circle Tram to Spencer St and then walked across the bridge to the Crown Casino, where Justin stood hiding behind a tree. We then went for a walk to try and find a nice simple place for a meal. This we found at Il Primo Posti - a bustling Italian restaurant on the south bank just a short walk from the casino.
The meal was very nice, the service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The conversation drifted across many topics - who was getting up to what, different conventions and how they were going, possible trips overseas in the near future.
After a couple of hours at dinner, we walked back towards the casino and stopped at a gelati shop for a cone of Cookies and Cream (or, in Justin's case, Blood Orange and Cherry Ripe). All too soon, though, it was time to head back to the apartment, so we said our goodbyes and hopped back on the tram.
As always, it was great to sit, eat and chat with him - I really do enjoy catching up with him and I need to make sure I do this the next time I am in Melbourne.
