Linda You're going to have a lot of catch up to do when you start blogging about WorldCon! :) Having a great time reliving your adventure!
re: 'Ey up, lad!Yoli Lawrence Nnnoooooo.... You missed Brittania? . Ah well another reason to go back
re: Journey to the North - Part IIIArwen Haha yeah I dragged Gordon into Ness while I was there to have a bit of a looksee at ther latest stuff. Love that place!
re: Journey to the North - Part IYoli Lawrence Across the road from Edinburgh Kirk if memory serves is one of my favourite shops... Ness... I blame Arwen for this... she's the one who put me on to them :D I know exactly what you mean about the landscape being SW one minute and not the next. I always loved looking at the little two storey houses popping up suddenly in clusters of three or four in the middle of nothing.... PS... I'm as not jealous as Todd is BTW
re: Journey to the North - Part ITodd Rowlands You seem to be enjoying the trip and having a good time. Not jealous of you at all. Nope not jealous at all. Have I told you I'm not jealous well I'm lying.
re: Journey to the North - Part IYoli Lawrence Welcome to my experience of the UK. that feeling of familiarity only seemed to get stronger the longer I was there. So glad you're enjoying yourself :)
re: Across the Channel...Linda Travel around the countryside! :) hope today's travels go just as well. Where are all my food pic spam photos? :)
re: Across the Channel...Yoli Lawrence LOL on the Mona Lisa. Mum said the exact same thing. She was at the Louvre in the 60's and there was no security etc around it. She walked past it three times before asking someone where the picture was and it was right behind her. You think it's a much bigger picture! Glad you are having such a wow of a time!
re: Art for art's sakeTodd Rowlands I can understand how you feel about the galleries. I lost a whole day at the National Gallery in London and didn't get to the Tate Modern as it was getting close to closing time. Your calves and feet will get better but the override switch is usually a long soak in a bath. Look forward to your next posting and review on the Eurostar.
re: Art for art's sakeLinda I can't wait to see all your photos! You sound like you are having a much better time now, yay you! This is a much better start to your trip! So.... Are you going to have a butt we can bounce coins on? (Hey Todd, new game!) :) Picspam us!
re: Is it that obvious that I'm a tourist?Yoli Lawrence Fantastic! Shouting down that annoying little IT at the back of your head is a brilliant move! Well done! Your posts are a real highlight at the moment I really love and need them :D Continue having a blast!
re: Is it that obvious that I'm a tourist?Aunty Tyna Love that you accomplished so many things in one unassuming walk. You saw so much, wandered around, followed your instinct, denied your fears, focused on a target.....the list goes on. Proud on you sunshine. X
re: Is it that obvious that I'm a tourist?Todd Rowlands Magnifique. I love the fact you did the I wonder what is down here trek and look where it lead you.
re: Is it that obvious that I'm a tourist?Aunty Tyna Can't believe you are in Paris - you lucky, lucky bas....... This is just the beginning of a wonderful adventure. You just soak each and every moment in. You deserve it.
re: Well, I made it. :)Tiki Swain A bakery called Bread Apples? Or Bread of Apples? My French is, um, somewhere back in the 1985 of my memory. Glad to hear the trip went OK. And thank you so much for being considerate and unruffled by the mum and kids next to you! The reaction of neighbouring passengers makes a huge difference when travelling with kids.
