hey everyone,
just to let you know that myself and adele touched down safely. didn't sleep well on the plane at all, food was horrible we didn't really eat it and the flight was quite rough. the airport was dead which was not what i epected, i imagined it to be hectic. after we grabbed our backpacks we got a taxi to our hotel which took around an hour. we were so happy to have reached our hotel until we stepped foot into our room. lest just say it's fit for a tramp. the shower cutain is moudly and the water just about reaches luke warm if your lucky!! the beds move around and the air con is the loudest i've ever heard. outside our balcony is a river which evidently from the the smell is the sewage system, on top of that there is a big digger in the middle that starts work very early in the morning. lucky at breakie they had toast!!! but never the less a youth hostel would be much worse, so we booked another night. so far we explored parts of bangkok by tuk tuk's and taxi. we have been on river boat rides, temples inc the golden budha etc , cjina town and khansan road (may have spelt that wrong). the street food is very good, although i'm playing safe ,y only having mainly chicken and rice, luckly they sell all of our choclate over here! on the other hand adele is trying everything, eating half of it and then having to find something that isn't as spicy as her mouth is on fire. today we have just checked out of the hotel and now have 5 hours to kill before we get a coach down to the south islands. which we are much looking forward to as neither of us could send other day in bangkok. it's a great experience but it's very dirty and smelly, you constantly hassled and everyboday trying to rip you off, or telling you your beauitful and following you half a mile down the road. having said that there a been a few locals who have been very kind and given us good advice on things to do trips, and how much we should pay for them. from a locals advice we went to the TAT, which is the tourist infomation run by the goverment to book all our accomadation and trasfers for the next two weeks at a cost of 200 pounds roughly, which works out just over 10 pound. we are mainly staying in beach huts in private rooms, therefore it's not as cheap as sharing. so all we really have to worry about now is sun burn, food and activites. hope all is well at home.
lots of love jayde and adele
