SO IT'S APRIL 9TH 2008!!!!We have been away a year already. The past few days we have been moving around Cambodia and thought we should do something memorable to mark the occasion.Today we visited one of the manmade 7 wonders of the world Angkor Wat, which I must say was spectacular and Emma saw the first driving instructor and learner driver car in a year…explains A LOT!Yesterday we visited Beng Mealea a 2 hour tuk-tuk drive away, oh yes our asses know about it!!! BM was built in the middle of the 12th Century in the style of Angkor Wat and is completely unrestored and in a ruinous state.Due to theses reasons hardly anyone goes there and it really is the most romantic ruin, peaceful and with no health and safety or conservation you can climb all over it!We got lost and had to be rescued by 2 little girls for the handsome price of a dollar! We also gave away all our oranges to any cute kid that muttered the words "candy, candy".Suckers for a cute smile!Anyway, today we got up at stupid o'clock (no bells o'clock for us anymore) somewhere in the region of 4.30am and headed off to see dawn and sunrise at Angkor Wat which was very worth the effort we can tell you!Lil Tel and Lil Ju joined us and we had a lovely breakfast of bread and cheese by the pond (thank you to you frenchies out there the baguettes were lovely). We spent the whole day driving and walking around Angkor Wat (if you are saying Angkor WHAT at this moment please Google it!), Angkor Thom, Bayon, The Elephant Terrace, Ta Som etc. etc. etc.A fantastic day and about 200 too many photos's.Panic not the're not all on the blog!Anyway all built between the 11th and 13th century some taken over by nature and some restored to the most amazing beauty.Too be hones some people come here for a week (Americans your country's young we understand it's new and cute) we're from Blighty and have been looking at old buildings during every school holiday since we were 5 so 2 days is enough for us. Well worth the visit truly spectacular.Tonight we will probably have an early night as we have a 7.30 bus to catch.Bye for now x x x x
