Day 9

Another early start, getting up at 3 wasnt too bad think we were just excited to get to Vietnam. Flight into Hanoi was fine, went very quickly as we both nodded off as soon as we sat down. Flight only took just over an hour and a half, its our shortest journey yet! :)

Hanoi is soooo busy! We thought Bangkok was bad! There are mopeds EVERYWHERE and it is almost impossible to cross the road.. due to the amount of traffic. Another strange thing is that every single vehicle seems to be constantly tooting their horns. We've not quite worked out why because there are so many people tooting you cannot tell one from the other. Our hotel is really nice and we got a great deal, we are right next to one of the main streets, so our ears will be ringin 'toots' tonight!

We are going to Halong Bay tomorrow for 2 nights, 3 days. We will be staying for 1 night on a boat and the other in a hotel on 'Cat Ba Island' before returning to the same hotel in Hanoi for 1 night.

We explored a small part of Hanoi today and had a look around the 'Army Museum' which was great, and also went to the Van Mieu Temple. We had wanted to visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum although it only opens in the morning so didnt get a chance to go inside however we did drive past and had a look from outside. Think we will have a night in tonight as the hotel is quite nice and could do with a good nights sleep.
