Today we headed to Rome.
Steve had organised a water taxi to pick us up at 9am and take us to the train station. We grabbed a bite to eat and waited for the train to depart. It left at 10:30 and although we did not travel first class this time, it was comfortable. The train went fast Jason and Steve saw It reach 250kph. After going through Florence, we arrived in Rome around 2pm.
We waited for a taxi and after watching some interesting characters, we were in the taxi and on our way to the accommodation. The buildings here are so old! I know the city is old but just not what I expected
After a bit of a wait to get into our apartment we finally got up to our rooms. It is fair to say that the photos and reviews of the place are defiantly not what I am looking at It is very pokey and the smell.... oh my goodness it takes getting used to. However it is our home for a few days and most of it will be spent put and about exploring.
After dumping our luggage we set out for the Pantheon. It is a short walk from here and once there, Larry and Amanda went off to have tea with their daughter while Steve Donna, Jason and I found a small cafe and had a bite to eat while watching the crowd around the Pantheon.
We found a restaurant close to our apartment and had a good feed, before returning back to the room for an early night
