We leave Tobago Keys national park to cruise along the drop off, to fish on our two hour cruise to the very private island of Mustique.
We anchor in the most beautiful Britannia Bay, with white sandy beaches and lush tropical hills behind.
The island is owned by 97 home owners who have built 'Architectural Digest', type houses. The prices have soured here from one million dollars to ten times that in ten years.
It has been reputed to the the place for movie stars, royalty and rock singers, but we didn't see any.
We ventured ashore to find we could not get around the island and were restricted to the Main Street and beaches on the bay. The island was in lock down where taxis cannot work or any other transportation outside Britannia Bay because the owners are here for Easter. This is one of the regulations the owners can impose to maintain their privacy.
The small waterfront street has some very colourful boutiques painted pink and purple. There is the famous Basil's Bar and Restaurant, where we go later that night for rum cocktails. The highlight of the cocktail tasting being the 'Hurricane David'.
We have a swim in the clearest aqua water we have seen. Back on board we enjoy a BBQ of fresh Wahoo. After dinner we have a big school of fish near the boat that look like sardines but are a type of Mackerel. We catch a few in a net has they weren't taking a lure. Underneath the school are good size Trevally, which we caught to give us another good meal of fish.
The next day is Good Friday. Barry and MB take the tender to the drop off for an hour, only landing a small Baracuda. This was put back as we have so many good fish still on board to eat.
We take Christy ( our new chef ), to buy fresh produce from a small market on the beach.
Then we head off to the next island Bequia.
