Just watched the rugby. Enough said! About to go out to the beach for a late breakfast and forget about it for another four years.
Arrived in Melbourne on Friday evening. Staying with friends Sue and Steve. Had a cracking day out yesterday. Went to Mornington Peninsula. As you probably all know Melbourne is situated at the top of a horseshoe shaped bay. The Peninsula is the bottom of the east side of the peninsula. We went so far down that we actually got to the Southern Ocean and had a paddle. Freezing! The surf was awesome and there was a mist hanging in the air. Very unusual rock formation with a great hole in it called London Bridge. Not sure why but no doubt someone somewhere will know. Answers on a post card please. If my photos up load you can see the extent of the coast and the surf. There is nothing much to stop the ocean because the next stop from where we were is Antartica. Stopped at a wonderful pub for lunch. Fabulous fish - before and after pics say it all. Then went for a wander on the beach. The horseshoe shaped bay is called Port Phillip Bay. Decided to have a paddle as although the outside temp was about 26 degrees it was a tad cold to go swimming. Anyway all three of us managed to get soaked but it was fun. Finished off a delightful day with a Thai meal (very cheap but excellent) and a glass or two of wine. All in all a good day.
