After a very warm night we left Ceduna with cool cloudy conditions – just right for the long drive ahead.  We reached the Nullarbor Plain before continuing along the Bunda Cliffs which had a number of lookouts on the edge of the Great Australian Bight.  Soon after the cliffs we reached Western Australia and the border town of Eucla.  A short fuel stop and we continued west for another couple of hours to a great bush campsite near Cocklebiddy.     We woke up to a 44° day so after getting fuel and food ready for the trip tomorrow we spent some time reading in the caravan with the fans going. After an easy lunch Mum, Fraser and I went to the beach for about three hours while Dad stayed in the not that cool but cooler than outside caravan. We took an early trip to the library to hand in our books and complete a creative project for school.  I made a braid bracelet with some beads in it and Fraser drew a collection of birds We then visited Pinky Point in the suburb of Thevenard where the deep sea port facilities are located.  There was also a tiny lighthouse which no longer operates.  Dad bought a dozen oysters from the Oyster Shack and gave them the thumbs up at the end of the day.  We enjoye...

We left Streaky Bay and set off for the drive to Ceduna, our last main town before crossing the Nullarbor to Western Australia.  It only took a bit over an hour and we checked into the Shelly Beach Caravan Park just east of town.  We then headed to the Information Centre and did some shopping.  I’d like you to meet Dad’s travel teddy Murray, who helps us to navigate each day and is enjoying many places he visited in 2001 on his last trip around Australia ...

A windier day but we set off to visit the sea lion colony at Point Labatt. There were about 30 sea lions ashore and most were sleeping in the sun. The little pups were pestering the adults and getting growled at. We looked for a beach to boogie board at but the wind made them all unpleasant so it was back to the jetty enclosure for another dip.
